Saint Mary's Ninth Annual Gala an Audio Visual Masterpiece
Grand Rapids, Michigan- On November 10th, 2007, Saint Mary’s Southwest Campus was transformed into a show-stopping venue. More than 650 guests helped raise more than $160,000 net proceeds for the Tom and Mickie Fox & Family Center for Advanced Robotics and Minimally Invasive Surgery, which will be located at Saint Mary’s downtown campus.

Saint Mary’s has earned a reputation of extraordinary events for its Gala Celebrations, and this was the fourth consecutive year that Saint Mary’s has entrusted the audio visual impact of their event to Chase Creative Unlimited.

The theme for Saint Mary’s Ninth Annual Gala event was “Intuition” and centered around the exciting addition of the da Vinci Surgical System to the growing list of services that Saint Mary’s Health Care offers its patients.

In past years, Saint Mary’s chose an off property event facility for its Gala. This year, they decided to bring the event home to the new Southwest Campus facility and, in the continual effort to be unique, decided to think “outside of the box” for this event…or, outside the building!

A 12,000 square foot gazebo like tent was erected and filled with twinkling lights and visual effects created by Jim Steurnagel and the Chase Creative Unlimited Team. Creating a completely different environment for an outdoor event in the November months of Michigan is no small task. However, as always, the Saint Mary’s Annual Gala was unlike no other in West Michigan.

“I couldn’t believe my eyes when I walked into the building,” exclaimed Eileen Brader. Eileen’s husband, Dr. Kevin Brader, is one of the surgeons who uses the da Vinci Surgical System at Saint Mary’s Health Care. “The glamorous tent and décor looked like something out of New York…but I wouldn’t expect anything less from this event…It’s top notch.”

Keri Larsen, Event Coordinator for Saint Mary’s Health Care has become accustomed to the service, creativity, and teamwork associated with working with Chase Creative as this was the third Gala Event that she worked hand in hand with the Chase Staff.

“Like always, (the Chase) crew was wonderful, helpful and attentive. Jim is so great to work with and he always delivers beyond what I anticipate. The event was truly beautiful...it is always a pleasure to work with the Chase Creative staff,” commented Larsen.

After another undeniable success with the Saint Mary’s Gala, the only thing left unanswered is….what will next year’s event have in store for its guests?
